Okay, so, I’ve always been into watches, you know? And not just any watches, but the fancy ones. I mean, who doesn’t love a good Patek Philippe, right? Especially that Gondolo 7042/100G-010 model, it’s a real looker. I’ve had my eye on that beauty for a while now.
So, the other day, I thought, why not try to remake one myself? Yeah, I know, it sounds crazy. But I was like, challenge accepted! I decided to go for the Patek Philippe Gondolo 7042/100G-010. It’s a mouthful, I know, but trust me, it’s worth it.
First off, I started gathering all the stuff I needed. I did some digging around the internet and found pictures about the Gondolo, you know, to see what makes it tick. I mean, you gotta know your stuff if you’re gonna try to remake a masterpiece like this, right?

Then came the fun part – actually making the thing. It was a lot of trial and error, let me tell you. I spent hours just tinkering with different parts, trying to get everything just right. There were times when I felt like giving up, to be honest. But I kept pushing, thinking about how awesome it would be to have my own handmade Gondolo.
- First, I tried to replicate that signature case shape.
- Then, I moved on to the dial. Oh boy, the dial. That was a whole other beast. It has a Diamond Paved Dial, I tried my best to find some alternative.
- Getting the hands to look right was also a pain, not gonna lie.
After weeks of work, I finally had my own version of the Patek Philippe Gondolo 7042/100G-010. It’s not the real thing, obviously. I mean, I’m no master watchmaker, and I definitely don’t have access to all those fancy materials they use. But you know what? It’s mine, and I made it with my own two hands. It’s not perfect, but it’s pretty darn good if I do say so myself. It looks pretty good, and keeps time, just not as accurate as the original.
In the end, my remake of the Patek Philippe Gondolo 7042/100G-010 wasn’t perfect, but it was mine. I learned a lot during the process, and I’m pretty proud of myself for sticking with it. It’s a reminder that you can do anything you set your mind to, even if it seems impossible at first. It looks amazing, and I’m really proud of how it turned out. It’s not an exact replica, but it captures the essence of the original, and that’s all that matters to me. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll even try to remake another watch. But for now, I’m just gonna enjoy wearing my homemade Gondolo and showing it off to anyone who will listen. It’s a great conversation starter, that’s for sure!
