Alright, let’s gab about this YSL bag, the one they call the Envelope. Folks keep yappin’ about it, so I figured I’d put in my two cents. Now, I ain’t no fancy pants, but I know what I like, and this bag, it’s somethin’ else.
First off, they say this YSL Envelope bag is a big deal. Some fella named Anthony, last name Vaccarello, he’s the one who cooked it up back in 2018. Said it was for “Resort,” whatever that means. Fancy folks and their fancy words, I tell ya. But lookin’ at it, it’s a nice little thing. Got that flap, you know, like a letter, and a chain so you can sling it over your shoulder. And that quiltin’, that’s somethin’ special. They call it “chevron” quiltin’. Sounds all highfalutin, but it just means it’s got them little zigzags all over. And right smack dab in the middle, you got them letters, Y, S, and L, all stacked up on top of each other. That’s how you know it’s the real deal, not some knockoff from down the street.
Now, I hear tell there’s other YSL bags too. They got one called the LouLou. Named it after some gal, a friend of the fella who started the whole shebang, Mr. Saint Laurent himself. That LouLou bag, it’s a looker too, but this Envelope one, it’s got a different feel to it. More, I don’t know, more… everyday-like, maybe? You could carry it to the store, or to church, or even to a fancy shindig if you wanted to dress it up.
- What makes the YSL Envelope special? Well, it ain’t just any old bag, that’s for sure. It’s got that special quiltin’, like I said, and that chain is real sturdy. And that YSL logo, well, that’s just pure class, even if I don’t always understand what class is all about.

You gotta go to them specialty stores, the ones with the fancy windows and the snooty sales ladies. Something about taxes and whatnot. But who’s got the money to fly all the way over there just for a bag? Not me, that’s for sure.
Some folks say these bags are an investment. Say they’ll be worth more money down the line. Maybe so, maybe not. I ain’t no financial whiz. All I know is, if you like a bag and you can afford it, then go ahead and get it. Life’s too short to worry about what other people think.
They make these bags out of different kinds of leather, too. Calfskin, that’s cow leather, I think. And then there’s this python stuff. Sounds kinda scary to me, wearin’ a snake on your shoulder, but hey, to each their own. And sometimes they make special ones, limited edition they call ’em. Those are the ones that cost a pretty penny, I reckon. But like I said, if you got the money, you do what you want with it.
Now, this Saint Laurent fella, his name gets mixed up with another one sometimes, just plain old Laurent. But they’re the same, far as I can tell. Just different ways of sayin’ it, like callin’ a soda pop “soda” or “pop.” Either way, it’s the same fizzy drink. And this YSL bag, whether you call it Saint Laurent or just Laurent, it’s still a mighty fine bag.
Why folks like these YSL bags is beyond me sometimes. They got that fancy name, sure. And they’re made real good, I guess. But at the end of the day, it’s just a bag, right? Somethin’ to carry your stuff in. But then again, I reckon folks like to feel fancy sometimes. And carryin’ a nice bag, well, that can make you feel a little bit special, even if you’re just goin’ to the grocery store.
So, if you’re lookin’ for a YSL Envelope bag, you know what to do. Find yourself a specialty store, or hop on that there internet, and start lookin’. Just be prepared to spend a little bit of money. These things ain’t cheap. But hey, if it makes you happy, then it’s worth it, right? That’s what I always say. And remember, whether you get the Envelope, the LouLou, or somethin’ else entirely, make sure you like it. That’s the most important thing.
