Okay, so, I’ve had my eye on this PRADA Re-Edition 2005 Bag for what feels like forever, right? And I finally was like, “You know what? I’m gonna try to remake it.” So, the first thing I did was hop online, obviously.
After a bit of searching, I found the official PRADA website and some resale sites. PRADA’s website had the bag listed as the “Prada Leather Re-Edition 2005 Shoulder Bag,” and it was in stock. I also looked at the second-hand market. There were tons of listings for used Re-Edition 2005 bags. One site was full of them.
So, I headed to the official store. I went straight for the bag section. And there it was, the Re-Edition 2005, looking all gorgeous and stuff. I picked it up, and let me tell you, it felt really nice. The material was smooth and seemed really good quality.
I spent some time examining it. This bag, the PRADA Re-Edition 2005, it’s, like, a classic. It is the kind of bag that will last a long time. They also call it the mini hobo style, I guess it’s kind of a big deal.
Here’s what I did to remake it:
- Checked out the bag: I looked at every little detail on the bag – how the straps were attached, the zipper, everything. Took tons of pictures from every angle.
- Figured out the materials: This was a bit tricky. The original is made of some special nylon and some leather parts. I had to find something that looked and felt similar.
- Made a pattern: I used the measurements and the pictures I took to sketch out a pattern. This took a lot of tries to get right.
- Started sewing: This was the hardest part! Putting it all together, piece by piece.
It was a lot of work, but you know what? I actually did it. It’s not perfect, but I made my own PRADA Re-Edition 2005. It was a lot of work, but you know what? It is satisfying to make it!
