Alright, so I tried to remake a Patek Philippe Gondolo, the 7042/100G-010 model. It’s got this classic look that I really dig, but the real ones? Way out of my league, price-wise. So, I thought, why not try to get a remake?
First off, I started digging around online. I read some stuff about remake watches and where to find them. There’s a whole world of remakes out there, from pretty bad ones to some that are surprisingly good. I wanted something decent, you know? Not just a cheap knock-off.
I checked out a bunch of online stores that sell remakes. Some looked shady as hell, with blurry pictures and no real info. Others seemed better, with detailed descriptions and even videos. I spent hours reading reviews, comparing prices, and trying to figure out which sellers were legit and which ones are just out to make a quick buck off of us.
I found a few places that looked promising. They had pictures of the Gondolo 7042/100G-010 remake that actually looked pretty close to the original, at least in the photos. I decided to take a chance and ordered one from a seller that had decent reviews and was well-known. The price was reasonable – not dirt cheap, but not so high that I felt like I was getting ripped off.
Waiting for it to arrive was a pain. I was constantly checking the tracking info, hoping it wouldn’t get stuck in customs or something. Finally, after a couple of weeks, it showed up.

So, yeah, that’s my experience with trying to get a Patek Philippe Gondolo remake. It was a bit of a gamble, but it paid off. I got a watch that I really like for a price I could actually afford.
Would I do it again?
Probably. It’s a good way to get the look of a high-end watch without spending a fortune. But you gotta do your research and be careful who you buy from. There are a lot of bad apples out there, but there are also some good ones if you know where to look. If you don’t know how to find these good guys to buy from, find someone that knows them and ask for help.
It was a challenge trying to find a good one, but I think I managed to do it, somehow. I am so satisfied with my Gondolo remake.
