So, today I’m going to share my experience of remaking the Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag. It’s not an easy job, but hey, who doesn’t love a good challenge?
First off, I got my hands on some Saffiano leather. This stuff is the real deal – genuine leather that’s been treated and embossed. It’s different from full-grain leather, you know? And the thickness? Well, that varies depending on what you’re using it for and the type of animal hide.
I started by cutting the leather into the right shapes and sizes. It was a bit tricky, but I managed. You gotta be real precise with this part. After that, I began stitching the pieces together. The stitching on a real Prada bag is something else – it runs parallel to the seams with small, tight, and uniform stitches. And get this, they angle upward! So, I tried my best to replicate that. It took some time, but I think I nailed it. I also made sure the inside logo plaque says “Prada Milano”. It should not be made of plastic or cloth. The real one always says “Prada Milano”.

- Stitch the leather pieces together, mimicking Prada’s signature style.

Next up was the hardware. I got some good quality metal pieces that look pretty close to the original. Attaching them was another challenge, but I got through it.
After all the pieces were assembled, it was time for the finishing touches. I carefully checked every detail, making sure everything was in place.
The Result
And there you have it – my very own handmade Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag! It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty proud of it. It’s got that sleek and timeless look, with pure and simple lines, just like the real one. And the best part? It’s unique because I made it myself!
