Well, lemme tell ya somethin’ about this here CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Super Racing. That’s a mouthful, ain’t it? My eyesight ain’t what it used to be, but I seen these fancy watches in them fancy stores. Lots of folks talkin’ ’bout ’em, so I figured I’d try to figure out what’s the big deal.
This Speedmaster, they call it. Sounds like somethin’ out of one of them space movies. But I reckon it’s just a watch, right? Well, not just any watch, I guess. These Omega watches, they sure ain’t cheap. You won’t find ’em down at the five-and-dime, that’s for sure.
Now, I heard folks talkin’ ’bout this Speedmaster Super Racing, and how it’s got somethin’ called a “Spirate System”. What in the Sam Hill is a Spirate? It is for time, I guess. You know how those city folk are with their fancy words. They say it makes it keep better time. Well, my old clock keeps time just fine, thank you very much. I gotta wind it, but it’s no big deal. But these, these Omega Speedmaster Original, they wind themselves, I hear.

- You gotta go to them fancy stores.
- They call ’em “Specialty Stores.”
- Sounds kinda silly to me, but what do I know?
These Omega Watches, they got all these numbers and dials and whatnots. It’s like the dashboard of a tractor. Some of them, like this Omega Speedmaster Racing 40mm Price, that’s the size of it. I mean that’s what that 40mm means. This one here is 44.25 mm. That’s bigger than my thumb! This here Speedmaster Super Racing. They say it’s got somethin’ special inside. Keeps it tickin’ just right. Fine-tuned, they say. I guess you gotta fine-tune somethin’ that costs more than my whole dang house! I seen a fella wearin’ one of these the other day. Looked like he was showin’ off, if you ask me. If they have this watch, maybe they are rich people. Who knows!
If you want one, you better have deep pockets. And you better know what you’re lookin’ for. Don’t just walk in there and point at the first shiny thing you see. You gotta know your stuff. Like, this Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9920, that’s a whole lotta words for what’s inside the watch. But what’s that all about? You got me. Don’t have any idea. But people sure do like to talk about it. Maybe it’s like the engine in a car. But smaller. Much, much smaller. I don’t know how they get all them little parts in there, but they do.
I seen a fella wearin’ one of these the other day. He say “Been waiting a minute for this one.” and “I knew I would end up with a Speedmaster in my life at some point, so I resisted.” What? I do not get it. They look expensive, but people talk them like these are very good. They will last very long, they say. Better than my old clock? I don’t think so, but who knows. Maybe they are right.
If you’re thinkin’ ’bout gettin’ one of these CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster, you gotta do your homework. You gotta read up on ’em. You can find things on them, all the information you need. They have them in all these fancy magazines and such, you know. But, you know these are not cheap. These are expensive. Do you really need one? I don’t know. Maybe you do, maybe you don’t. This ain’t like buyin’ a new pair of shoes. This is a big deal. Big price tag. And lots of folks, they like to show ’em off. Like that fella I saw the other day. Struttin’ around like a rooster in a henhouse.
This here Speedmaster Super Racing, it’s the newest one, I hear. Got all the bells and whistles. It’s a watch. It tells the time. That’s what it’s supposed to do. But it does more than that, I guess. All them dials and buttons. You need a book just to figure out how to use it. I wouldn’t know what to do with all that. Just give me a simple watch that tells the time. That’s all I need. But these young folks, they like all that fancy stuff. Me? I’m gettin’ old now. I just don’t care about it.
