Okay, so, let’s talk about this watch I’ve been chasing. You know, the CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster “Silver Snoopy Award” 50th Anniversary one. Yeah, that’s the one. It all started a few months back when I first saw it online. I mean, who doesn’t love Snoopy, right?
So, I started digging around. First, I hit up all the usual watch forums and blogs. I found out that this was a special edition, a limited-time thing to celebrate 50 years of the Silver Snoopy Award that NASA gave to Omega. That’s some history! I read a ton of reviews, watched a bunch of videos, and it felt like this watch was calling my name.
Then, I checked out the local watch stores. Walked into a few, asked around, but no luck. “It’s a popular one,” they all said. “Hard to get.” Great. Just my luck.
I didn’t give up, though. I started calling around to some bigger stores, even some out of state. I’d explain what I was looking for: “Yeah, the Speedmaster, the Snoopy one, the 50th-anniversary edition.” Most times, I got put on hold for like, forever. A couple of places said they’d call back, but, you know, they never did.
- Went online, scoured every possible site that might have it.
- Joined some watch groups on social media, asked if anyone was selling.
- Even considered those online auction sites, but man, those prices were insane.
Finally, after weeks of searching, I found a specialty store a few cities over that had one in stock. ONE. I called them up, and I swear my heart was racing. The guy on the phone confirmed it, “Yes, we have the CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Silver Snoopy Award 50th Anniversary watch.” I almost yelled, “Hold it for me!” which I did.
I drove down there the next day. It was a bit of a trip, but hey, it’s a Snoopy Speedmaster! When I got there, the store was pretty fancy. The guy brought out the watch, and there it was, in its beautiful original box with all the papers, just like new. It looked even better in person. The silver dial, the blue details, Snoopy on the sub-dial… it was perfect. Even though it was a 2023 production, it was very good. There are some minor scratches on the case side and lugs.
I tried it on, and it felt amazing. We chatted a bit about the watch’s history and features. I ended up buying it, of course. It wasn’t cheap, but hey, it’s a collector’s item. And it’s Snoopy!
It was a real adventure!
Walking out of the store with the watch on my wrist, I felt like I had accomplished something big. It wasn’t just about getting a new watch. It was the whole process, the search, the anticipation, and finally, the reward. Now, every time I look at my wrist, I’ll remember this whole crazy journey. What a ride!
