This here, this Rolex thing, it’s somethin’ else. I tell ya, these young folks, they go crazy for ’em. High imitation, they call it. Means it looks just like the real deal, but it ain’t. This one, the No-Date Black Submariner, that’s a mouthful, ain’t it? But it’s popular, I hear. They got these stores, fancy ones, where they sell these things. Specialty stores, they call ’em.
Now, I don’t know nothin’ about fancy watches. My old man, he had a pocket watch, kept it on a chain. This Rolex Submariner, it’s got a black face, they call it a dial. And that ring around it, the bezel, that’s black too. I heard someone say it’s a big crown, whatever that means. It’s all shiny and new lookin’. This Black Submariner is surely somethin’ to look at. This fake Rolex, it’s a big deal I guess.
They say this here Rolex, the real one, it’s heavy. Like, real heavy. This imitation one, I don’t know. Probably lighter. But who’s gonna know? You just wear it on your wrist, and it looks fancy. Folks won’t know the difference, I reckon. They’ll just see that black dial and that big old crown, and they’ll think you’re somebody important. This No-Date Black Submariner is really somethin’, people will pay good money for it, for lookin’ rich, not for bein’ rich.
I seen other watches. One was called, uh, Cassie-oh, or somethin’ like that. Cassie-oh Dur-oh, maybe? Sounds kinda like a tough fella’s name. Folks say it’s cheap. Not like this Rolex. This High imitation Rolex is a big deal, they say it at these specialty stores, only them got it. They say there are other dive watches that look like Rolex Submariner, but not as good.
I hear these young people talkin’. They say there are ways to tell if it’s a fake Rolex. Signs, they call ’em. If you know the signs, you can spot a fake. But who’s gonna be lookin’ that close? I wouldn’t know what to look for. I just see a watch. A shiny, black watch. This Black Submariner is surely pretty. This fake Rolex is for showin’ off.
These specialty stores, they sell all kinds of these imitation watches. But this No-Date Black Submariner, that’s the one they talk about. It’s the one everyone wants. I guess it is a dive watch, but I ain’t never seen no one divin’ with it. Just wear it around town, flashin’ it about.

My granddaughter, she’s got one of these. Showed it to me the other day. Said she got it at one of them specialty stores. Looked real nice on her wrist. She’s young, got her whole life ahead of her. Maybe she’ll get a real Rolex one day. But this imitation one, it’s good enough for now, I reckon. This High imitation Rolex is good for startin’ out, she said.
I remember back in my day, we didn’t have fancy watches like this. We just told time by the sun. Or maybe a clock on the wall. These days, everyone’s got a watch. And they all want a Rolex, or somethin’ that looks like one. This Rolex Submariner, even the fake one, is a symbol, she said.
These specialty stores, they’re poppin’ up everywhere. Seems like everyone’s sellin’ these imitation watches. Makes you wonder how many real Rolex watches are even out there. Probably not many, I bet. Most of ’em are probably these high imitation ones, like this No-Date Black Submariner.
I don’t know much about these things. But I know what I see. And what I see is a lot of people wearin’ these watches. And they all look pretty happy with ’em. So, I guess these High imitation Rolex watches, they’re doin’ somethin’ right. This Black Submariner, it is the big shot in these watches.
This whole watch thing, it’s a big deal nowadays. Back in my day, we didn’t care about such things. But times change, I guess. And these specialty stores, they’re here to stay. Sellin’ these No-Date Black Submariner watches, and all the other ones too. I don’t know if they are 40 millimetres big, whatever that means, but they look big enough on the wrist.
