This here, it’s about that Remake Patek Philippe PP Calatrava 5227R-001, the one they sell in them fancy shops. I heard folks talking ’bout it, and I got curious, you know. They say it’s a real special watch, cost more than my whole house, I reckon.
They call it “Calatrava,” sounds like a fancy dance or somethin’. And this 5227R-001, that’s like its special name, I guess. Like how my old Bessie cow had a number on her ear tag. They say the “R” stands for something but I forgot what.

Now, they say it can go underwater, this Patek Philippe 5227R-001. ‘Bout 30 meters, which is deeper than I can even imagine. I ain’t never been that deep, not even in the well when I was a girl. I reckon you could drop it in the fishin’ hole, and it’d be just fine. I ain’t gonna try it though!
And the back, oh, the back is somethin’ else. It’s made of some kinda see-through crystal, they call it “sapphire.” You can see all the little gears and things movin’ around inside. It’s like a tiny little world in there. And it’s got a little cover, like a secret door, to keep the dust out. They say its hinged but I can’t see any hinges on it.
Inside, that’s where the magic happens, I suppose. They got this thing called a “Cal. 30-255.” Sounds like a rifle, don’t it? It’s got 27 jewels, they say. More jewels than the queen’s crown, I bet. And it’s tiny, real tiny, only 30.4 mm wide and 2.55 mm thick. How they get all them jewels in somethin’ so small, I’ll never know.
And it goes “tick-tock, tick-tock,” real fast, 28,800 times an hour. Faster than a hummingbird’s wings, that’s for sure. And it can run for days, they say, 66 hours at least, without you doin’ a thing. Longer than my old truck could run without more gas.
There’s another one they talk about, too, called “caliber 324.” This one, it’s got a different number of jewels. It’s got 29, I think I heard someone say. I don’t know, seems like a lot of fuss over some jewels in a little watch. It’s also got this thing called a “shock absorber,” like my old pickup truck. Guess it keeps the insides safe if you drop it or somethin’.

Some folks, they go lookin’ for deals on these watches online, but there are also some remakes you can buy for cheap. They say some place called “Chrono24” has ’em. I don’t know nothin’ about that, but I reckon if you’re gonna spend that kinda money, you better be sure you’re gettin’ the real deal. That’s what I always say, you get what you pay for. If it is too good to be true, well, it is not true, I think.
This Patek Philippe Calatrava 5227R-001, it’s a fancy thing, that’s for sure. I can see why folks like it, with all its little gears and jewels and whatnot. But for me, I’ll stick with my old trusty wristwatch. It tells the time just fine, and it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg. Besides, I’d be too scared to wear somethin’ that expensive. I’d probably lose it in the chicken coop or somethin’.
But I guess, a remake one would be ok. It looks like the real one and no one will know, right? You just need to tell people, hey, look at my Remake Patek Philippe 5227R-001. I think that’s what I would do. Maybe I will get a remake one.
