You know, I heard people talkin’ ’bout these fancy Rolex watches, ‘specially the Submariner ones. They say it’s real good, but also real expensive. Some folks, they can’t afford the real deal, so they go for these… what do they call ’em? High imitation ones. I’m tellin’ ya, it’s a wild world out there. They say the no-date black Submariner is what folks want. Well, I don’t know much ’bout these things, but I heard a thing or two from them young folks.
They say you gotta watch out for them fakes. These high imitation Rolex, they look just like the real ones, but they ain’t. It’s like buyin’ a pig in a poke, you never know what you’re gonna get. Some of these, they call ’em “Clean Factory” somethin’ or other, and others, they got names like “ARF” or some such. I reckon it’s like pickin’ apples, you gotta know which ones are good and which ones are rotten. I heard the movement of Clean Factory is VR3130 and ARF is A2824.
They even talk ’bout the weight of the thing. Like, the real Rolex Submariner, it’s heavy, you know? But these fake ones, they might be lighter. It’s like holdin’ a real gold coin versus a chocolate one. You can feel the difference. But you know, I hear you’d need experience to tell.
- They say you gotta look at the little hand that goes around, the seconds hand.
- On a real one, it moves smooth, like butter.
- But on a fake one, it kinda jumps, like a chicken with its head cut off.
Unless, they say, it’s some fancy fake called an “Oysterquartz.” Then it’s supposed to jump. Lordy, it’s all so confusin’.
Now, I heard this one fella talkin’ ’bout a “Rolex 114060“. Seems like that’s a special kind, a no-date Submariner. They say it came out in 2012, somethin’ about a “Super Case” and 2008. I don’t know what that means, but it sounds mighty important to them that know ’bout these things. And this Rolex 114060, it’s the one they want, I guess. This is the no-date black Submariner everyone want.
Then there’s somethin’ called a “5517” and a “5513“. They say these are rare, like a hen’s tooth. And because they’re so rare, folks are willin’ to pay a pretty penny for ’em. They call ’em “double reference” somethin’ or other. Sounds like a lot of double talk to me, but what do I know? People like collectin’ them, these Military Submariners.
And this other one, the Rolex Submariner 5513, they say it’s real old, from 1962 to 1989. But it’s still good, like a well-worn quilt. It’s got somethin’ called a “40mm case” and “crown guards.” Sounds like somethin’ a king would wear, don’t it? Anyway, they say this 5513, it’s a good one, even though it’s old. A good Rolex Submariner design.
These young folks, they’re always talkin’ ’bout these Rolex watches, ‘specially the Submariner. They say it’s the best, but you gotta be careful. If you’re lookin’ for a no-date black Submariner, that 114060, you better know what you’re doin’. Otherwise, you might end up with a fake, and that ain’t no good.
I heard some people say, if you like the look of this Rolex Submariner, you can get other watches that look like it. Maybe not as good, but they look similar, you know? The most famous steel sports watch, is what they say. This Rolex Submariner is sure somethin’.
So, if you’re thinkin’ ’bout buyin’ one of these high imitation Rolex watches, ‘specially a no-date black Submariner, you better do your homework. Learn about these Clean Factory and ARF things, and the 114060 and the 5513 and the 5517. And remember about the weight, and how that little hand moves. It’s a lot to remember, but it’s better than gettin’ fooled, I reckon.
You gotta know about these old ones, too. They say, “familiarize yourself with vintage, discontinued.” Whatever that means. I guess it means you gotta know about the old ones, the ones they don’t make no more. Like that 5513, I reckon. It’s all so much to learn, just for a watch!
Just remember, a real Rolex, it’s somethin’ special. But these fakes, they’re just tryin’ to be somethin’ they ain’t. Like a fox in a henhouse, pretendin’ to be a chicken. So be careful out there, and don’t let them fool ya! These high imitation Rolex, they might look good, but they ain’t the real deal. Only real Rolex Submariner is good.
